How to resize a PAN card photo on mobile with no app needed

You can prepare a PAN photo from a phone using a mobile browser. A separate app is not required: select a picture, set the crop and dimensions, then download and inspect the result.

Resize in your mobile browser

  1. Open the PAN card photo resizer in a recent browser such as Chrome or Safari.
  2. Tap the image selector and choose a photo from your gallery, camera roll, or Files app. If taking a new photo, use even light and a plain background.
  3. Select Photograph mode and use the appropriate crop. Drag the crop area with touch controls, keeping the head and shoulders framed as the application requests.
  4. Set the dimensions and file format required by the live application. Portal rules may differ, so do not assume the same pixels or KB limit for every form.
  5. Download the JPEG and open your phone’s Files or Downloads app to confirm that it saved, has the expected file size, and looks clear.

Save the image on iPhone or Android

On iPhone, the browser may show a download prompt or place the file in the Downloads folder in Files; use Share or Save Image if that option appears. On Android, the file is usually available in Downloads or in the browser’s download list. The exact menu depends on your browser and phone settings. Keep the original photo until you have opened the resized copy and confirmed it is correct.

Privacy and troubleshooting

This site processes the selected image in your browser; the resizer does not upload it to our server. If the page reloads, the download does not appear, or a very large photo causes the browser to slow down, try a smaller source copy or use a device with more available memory. Do not share a personal photo with a third-party service you do not trust.

The nsdl photo resize tool can prepare a local image file, but current Form 93/94 requirements may not match older provider presets. Check the official application before uploading; resizing on mobile does not guarantee approval.
