Reprint or correction: choose the right service
Use a reprint request when the PAN details are already correct and you only need another physical card. Use a change/correction request when you need the PAN record or card to show a corrected detail, including a photo or signature if the current form offers that option. A reprint-only request is not a substitute for updating stored information.
Use the correction service associated with your provider. UTIITSL currently labels its Indian correction route CR-01/CR-02; Protean lists a separate “Change/Correction in PAN Data” service. Do not apply for a new PAN just to update an existing PAN record.
General steps to request an image update
- Open the official provider’s change/correction service and select the form for your applicant type.
- Enter the existing PAN and applicant details exactly as requested. Verify the PAN before paying or submitting.
- Choose the photo and/or signature update option if it appears on the current form. Select only the changes you actually need.
- Prepare the image in the format, dimensions, file-size limit, and background specified by that live form. Older online guides may quote outdated size limits.
- Attach any identity, address, or other supporting evidence requested by the correction route. Confirm whether the workflow uses electronic verification or requires signed/physical documents.
- Review the preview and declaration, submit the request, save the acknowledgement number, and track the application through the provider.
Prepare a clear photo or signature file
Use a recent, well-lit photo with a plain background, and crop without stretching or cutting off the subject. For a signature, scan or photograph the actual signed paper, keep the full handwriting visible, and avoid editing the signature into a different shape. A PAN card photo resizeror PAN card signature resizercan help prepare an image file; it cannot file a correction request or guarantee that the provider will accept it.
Check the official Protean PAN service optionsor the UTIITSL correction pagefor the current route and instructions. Fees, identity checks, file rules, and processing steps can change.
