How to resize a PAN card photo to 213 × 213 pixels

The 213 × 213 pixel square is a familiar UTIITSL photo preset. However, the current official portals now direct Indian new-PAN applicants to revised Forms 93/94, so verify the live form before treating that older number as the current specification.

Is 213 × 213 still the current UTIITSL specification?

UTIITSL’s public PAN page states that new Indian applications should use Forms 93 and 94 from 1 April 2026 and that old Forms 49A/49AA are no longer accepted after 31 March 2026. Protean’s current application guidance also points Indian applicants to Forms 93/94. The public current-form guidance does not establish 213 × 213 pixels as a universal requirement for every new application.

Therefore, treat 213 × 213 as a legacy UTIITSL preset unless the current application flow you are using explicitly requests those dimensions. The form’s own upload field and instructions take priority over an old “UTI photo resize” article, tool, or search result. We checked the public Form 93/94 guidance on 29 October 2026; check it again when applying because portal rules can change.

If the current form asks for 213 × 213

  1. Start with a clear, recent color photo that meets the form’s pose and background rules.
  2. Open the PAN card photo resizer and choose the photo from your device.
  3. Set both width and height to 213 pixels, then position the square crop so the face is centered and not clipped.
  4. Export in the file format and size limit shown by the current application. Do not assume an older 30 KB cap or 300 DPI value still applies.
  5. Check the saved image properties: both pixel dimensions should read 213, and the file should open clearly.

Keep the photo square without distorting it

Use a square crop rather than stretching a portrait photo until it becomes square. Cropping changes the visible edges; stretching changes the shape of the face. Keep the subject at the scale requested by the application, and retain enough margin around the head. A square shape alone does not guarantee a valid PAN photo.
